Thrissur

Thrissur, the Cultural Capital of Kerala, is situated in Central Kerala and is one of the must see places for most tourists visiting Kerala.Thrissur Pooram is the biggest highlight of the place. The most colorfully temple festival of Kerala celebrated in April-May attracts large masses of devotees and spectators from all parts of the country. Foreigners are also seen in large numbers to vitness the grand event. It consists of processions of richly caparisoned elephants from various neighbouring temples to the Vadakkumnadan Temple, Thrissur. The Pooram Festival is also well known for the magnificent display of fire works start in the early hours and the dazzling display last three to four hours.

Anakayam, Art Museum, Athirapilly and Vazhachal Water falls, Cheruthuruthy, Peechi Dam, Punnathur Kotta,Vadakkumnathan Temple and Zoo are the main tourist attractions.
Thrissur is well connected by road and rail. The nearest airport is the international airport at Nedumbassery, Cochin.

Aarattupuzha Pooram

The Ayyappa Temple at Thrissur is famous for its Aarattupuzha Pooram festival that takes place in the month of March. It is one of the most colorful carnivals of Kerala.

Thrissur Pooram

This Pooram is considered to be the mother of all Poorams in Kerala. A grand procession of richly ornamented elephants takes place and is worth a watch. The Trichur Pooram is celebrated in the months of April-May annually.

Art Museum

The famous Art Museum is located in the Zoo compound and is a rich treat for all art lovers and connoisseurs of anything related to art. The museum has collections of ancient sculptures, metal statues, carvings and jewellery.

Thriprayar Temple

Located towards the south of Trichur, Thriprayar Temple is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Rama. The ornate carvings on the temple walls and pillars are a living example of beautiful and traditional architecture that is so exclusive of Kerala.

Peechi Dam  Manali River

Peechi Dam

The Peechi Dam is built across the Manali River and is a popular tourist attraction spot. The catchments area of this Dam has been converted into a beautiful expanse of lovely gardens with fountains and flowering plants. Sprawling over an area of almost 3200 acres, this catchments area is what attracts tourists and locals alike to relax and enjoy themselves.
