Off the beaten track - Northern Kerala

Northern Kerala is sandwiched between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats. It is little explored by many visitors and as such has a much more off-the-beaten-track feel to it and you are less likely to encouter many other tourists.

It is home to the prosperous trading towns of Kozhikode (Calicut) and Kannur (Cannanore) which is famous for its incredible theyyam possession performances. Animal lovers should head to the beautiful Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the few places you’re guaranteed to spot an elephant.

Tourists are offered every attraction that is unique to Kerala – long stretches of backwaters, Ayurveda, serene hill stations and plantations, rare wildlife, secluded beaches, spectacular art forms, handicrafts and handlooms.
