Kerala Boat Races

Kerala's winding stretches of backwater are famous for their peace and tranquility as well as the excitement of the native boat races, which are held every year during the harvest season. Scores of long snake boats and other smaller crafts participate in these events. The largest team sport in the world, the snake boat races are preceded by colourful water parades.

Unfortunately the Boat Races are held between August and September which we think is very hot.

Indira Gandhi Boat Race happens to be very colorful water sport-cum-festival held every year. It is organised during the last week of December in the backwaters of the Cochin City of Kerala.
