ITINERARY:
DAY
01: ARR. CHENNAI - TRANSFER TO MAMALLAPURAM (60 km / 1,5 hrs)
Upon
arrival in Chennai, our Executive will meet you at the Airport followed by transfer
from Airport to Mamallapuram. (Overnight in Mamallapuram)
DAY 02: MAMALLAPURAM
(Sight Seeing)
In
the morning we will proceed for a sightseeing tour of Mamallapuram. On this
tour we will visit "Arjuna's Penance" - the largest Bas Relief whale-back
shaped rock contains figures of Gods, demigods, men, beasts, birds and infant
represent the entire creation, the "Five Rathas", also known
as Pancha Pandava Rathas consist of five monolithic temples where each temple
is created in different style. At the end of a trip we will visit "The
shore Temple" the oldest temples in South India, which was built in the
8 century AD, constructed in Dravidian style. This temple has two shrines, one
for Shiva and another for Vishnu. For lunch we take you in one traditional Indian
restaurant. After lunch we proceed with our tour towards Tiger's Cave which
was once an open-air theatre and performed cultural program. At the end we will
visit the Crocodile Park located just 14 km from Mamallapuram, which keeps over
1500 crocodiles of several specious of Indian and African alligators, kept in
their natural surroundings in open pools and can be viewed from a safe proximity.

03: MAMALLAPURAM - TANJORE
(330 km / 7 hrs)
Departing
from the hotel after breakfast, drive to Tanjore enroot visit Gangaikonda Cholapuram
(famous Shiva temple) with its beautiful high towers full with many small sculptures
depicting stories of old epics. Proceed to visit Darasuram temple (built in
memory of the White elephant - AIRAVATH from the gods family), the temple
has its original name as “Airavateshwara temple”. Further you drive
to reach the Tanjore. On arrival at the hotel check in and free evening. (Overnight
in Tanjore)

04: TANJORE
Morning
after breakfast you proceed for sight seeing tour visiting - the world famous
‘Brihadishwara temple’ (houses one of Asia’s biggest Nandi
- the bull). The temple built by the Cholas is very special for its architecture.
The most exiting is that the temple does not have a shadow falling on ground
at any time of day but falls on its own body. Then on visit the Bronze gallery
at palace museum. Further we visit a village on the out skirts of Tanjore for
a glance on people at work making Bronze Statues and Glass paintings. (Overnight
in Tanjore)
DAY
05: TANJORE - KARAIKUDI
(120 km /3 hrs)
Morning
check out from hotel after breakfast and drive to Karaikudi via Trichy - the
town situated on the bank of river Cauvery. You will visit ‘Srirangam’
the largest temple complex in India, lies on an island on the Cauvery River,
on the northern side of this chaotic city. The most important entrance gate
is more than ninety meters high. There are seven temple walls around the complex.
Later visit the Rock fort temple in the man town. A 437 rock cut steps will
reach you to the Ganesha shrine on the top. A view of entire Trichy town from
here is breath taking. Later lunch at a nice restaurant and onward drive to
Karaikudi the Land of Heritage & Devotion that enchants and enhances the
soul. It is a tourist's paradise with a difference, and one, which certainly
cannot be missed by the discerning tourist. A stray thundershower adds to the
charm of the place, churning up the red soil, and filling up the temple tanks.
The palatial mansions, makes Chettinad a place of rare charm, and a must visit
destination. Chettinad Houses is rich in cultural heritage, art and architecture,
is well known for its houses and the cuisine. (Overnight in Karaikudi)
DAY
06: KARAIKUDI - MADURAI
(140 km / 3 hrs)
Morning
after early breakfast, drive to the oldest city of Tamil Nadu - Madurai.
On arrival check in to hotel and in the evening visit the ‘Meenakshi Temple’
for the evening ceremony with a fanfare, where the god Shiva is lead to the
bedroom of his wife, Meenakshi. (Overnight in Madurai)
DAY
07: MADURAI
Morning
after breakfast sightseeing of Madurai visiting - Meenakshi temple (one of the
largest temple complexes in south India),The Tirumalai Nayak Palace, Gandhi
Museum and Mariamman Teppakulam (The temple tank). Madurai is also a great place
to look for bronze statues, carpets or other souvenirs. (Overnight in Madurai)

08: MADURAI - KANYAKUMARI
(230 km / 5 hrs)
Morning
after breakfast checkout from the hotel and you will drive to Kanyakumari located
at the southern tip of the Indian subcontinent where the Bay of Bengal, the
Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean meet. The name of this place has been christened
after the virgin goddess Kanyakumari Amman. Mythological stories depict that
Goddess Parvati under the disguise of Devi Kanya did a penance in one of the
rocks in this area to reach the hand of Lord Shiva. This place is also a popular
for pilgrimage. (Overnight in Kanyakumari)
DAY 09: DEP.
FROM TRIVANDRUM
Check
out from hotel according to flight timing and the tour ends today with a transfer
to Trivandrum airport.

Entrance fees are not included. Most entrance fees in India are not
more than USD$2. PLEASE NOTE that there is often an additional camera
charge, though this again will not usually be more than USD$2. The
charges for using a Video camera are more expensive and will usually
be around USD$5. TOUR CANCELLATION POLICY:
You may cancel your booking any time prior to commencement of the
tour by notifying us in writing, which must be signed by the person
that signed the Reservation Form. If you cancel on or before 30
days before the first day of the tour, we will retain your deposit
to cover our costs.
In addition, if the cancellation notification is received less
than 30 days prior to the first day of the tour, additional cancellation
charges shall be as follows:
Amount of Cancellation Charges:
* 29-15 Days before the first day of the tour 50%
* 14-7 Days before the first day of the tour 75%
* Less than 7 Days before the first day of the tour 100%
CHANGES BY YOU:
If you request any changes to your travel arrangements once we have
confirmed a booking, all out of pocket charges, including charges
imposed by our suppliers, will be payable by you, plus an amendment
fee of USD$ 150.00 or more according to your requirement, per revision
per booking. If after the commencement of your tour you request
any changes to your travel arrangements, we will do our best to
implement them, but we cannot guarantee that it will be possible.
In the event of such change(s) being made, you will be liable for
any cancellation charges that may be levied for the previously booked
service and for any costs incurred by our suppliers and us in attempting
to secure any revised arrangements. Any name changes must be provided
to us in writing and are subject to any airline fees or penalties.
