Passports
The information in this section is valid for British
citizens only. Validity is 6 months beyond period of stay.
Visas
A visa must be obtained from the High Commission in London, Birmingham or Edinburgh
prior to travel. A six month Visa currently cost 30 Euros. We advise submission
of applications be made in person, however if we applied for your visa by post
please ensure you send the following:
1. Applicant’s passport (Valid for at least six months) original must
be sent.
2. Two passport size photos
3. The applicable visa fee 30 Euros plus 1 Euro handling charge. (You must
enclose correct fee by crossed postal order or Bank Draft only, payable to
the High Commission of India. Do not send cash)
4. Signed application form - If require, any supporting documents too. A stamped
addressed envelope with the application for return of the processed passport.
Send application only special delivery only.
Health
Although no vaccination certificates are required for entry to India, certain
health risks are associated with the country your own General Practitioner in
good time to ascertain what precautions are recommended.
Safety & Security
Please treat animals with caution even in resort areas. If you are bitten or
scratched pleases consult a doctor immediately
Flying
Flying time is approximately 9 hours.
While there is proven link between flying and Deep Vein Thombosis, we do suggest
that you contact your General Practitioner if you are concerned before undertaking
long flights. See also the Department of Health Website for up to date information.
Baggage Allowance
Standard baggage allowance is 20kgs per persons. Baggage allowance may vary
depending on airline or flight. You should check your flight tickets carefully
for correct details.
Please ensure that use the Kerala Travel Centre baggage labels supplies with
your tickets as this will assist our representatives in identifying you at airports.
Restrictions
Alcohol bans can be called in specific location across Kerala and generally
coincide with religious or political festivals.
Tours
Visitors should be aware that itineraries can change and in most cases out
of our control. Please take the time and make yourself aware of the environment
that you are traveling. In India it is not unusual to share the roads with cattle,
goats and other animals. Road conditions across the country vary, and driving
styles may appear some what hazardous which ultimately means that some journeys
may take longer than they should. This is all part of the Kerala Experience.

Porterage and tipping
This is not included in the price of your tour. Tipping is conventional in
most countries and 10% to 15% is customary.
